Important Note
The tuner uses a magnetic latching relay. When operating the tuner, please do not place it near strong magnets, especially magnetic brackets, otherwise it may be affected and cause it to malfunction.
The mAT-705 automatic antenna tuner is designed specifically for the ICOM IC-705 HF/VHF/UHF transmitter. With built-in lithium batteries and USB charging, it provides convenient, portable operation for amateur radio enthusiasts. It is fully compatible with ICOM's own brand of tuners for the IC-705 transmitter, and the operation is exactly the same. It cannot be used for other transmitters.
Built-in Lithium Battery
The mAT-705 tuner is powered by two built-in lithium batteries instead of alkaline batteries. The user no longer has to open the tuner housing to replace the battery.
USB Charging
The tuner uses a standard Type-C USB charging port, allowing users to easily charge the tuner using a mobile phone charger or any USB power source.
Automatic Power Control
The new version eliminates the mechanical power switch. Its power supply is automatically controlled by the transmitter, turning on and off along with the transmitter via the control cable.
Improved LED Display
The tuner uses a larger LED lens mounted directly on the PCB for better visibility and reliability.
Operation
The mAT-705 tuner has no mechanical power switch. Its startup and shutdown are controlled by the IC-705 transmitter, which turns on and off along with the transmitter.
Front Panel Indicators:
- PWR/CHARGE: Indicates charging and power status
- ONLINE/TUNING: Indicates tuner ON/OFF status and tuning status
- CHARGE: Type-C charging interface
Rear Panel Connectors:
- CON: Connect to the "TUNER" socket of the transmitter through the attached control cable
- ANT: Connect the coaxial cable to the antenna
- RF IN: Connect to the "ANT" socket of the transmitter through a 50 ohm coaxial cable
Charging Instructions:
- The "PWR/CHARGE" red indicator light is on while charging
- The red indicator light will go out after the battery is fully charged
- If the "PWR/CHARGE" indicator flashes red while charging, the lithium battery may have failed and should be checked
- If the "PWR/CHARGE" green indicator flashes when the tuner starts, the battery needs to be charged
